Some Resources One can turn to When Scheduling ID Project

In this digital age as an instructional designer, it is necessary to have an instructional design knowledge base and solid project management skills. This enables the ID to complete projects on time, the skills will include effective communication, leadership, scheduling, and time management. It is important to realize that a project schedule is a management tool that merges all the work tasks to be performed, their relationships estimated duration, and assigned resources.
As for scheduling, I have some resources that I think will we be very useful. I have a textbook, a website, and software that I think, I will continue to use on scheduling.

     1. Textbooks Atesmen, M. K. (2015). Project Management Case Studies and Lessons Learned: Stakeholder, scope, knowledge, schedule, resource, and team management. CRC Press.

This book is great because it has case studies and lessons learned on managing project stakeholders, teams, resources, and schedules. I see if a source with solutions to common project problems including scheduling. It offers an experience of solving problems, giving me as an instructional design project manager help in gaining insight into crafting solutions to those problems. Besides having all the theories, going through some practical experiences which others have gone through bits of help. It gives one experience without going through the dilemmas.

     3. Software. Wrike tool https://www.wrike.com/

The software and the tool gave me hope that after all, I can get some direction on project scheduling. Wrike is a digital work management tool that lets users track and coordinate projects, combining a simple user experience and interface with enough depth for power users. Wrike made projects visual and collaborative. Wrike is available on mobile devices (for Android and iOS), and as a desktop app for Windows and macOS. It also offers a free plan and several paid plans. The Free plan gives you essential features such as file sharing, standard task management, and a few integrations for up to five users, and the free plan provides centralized task management software for up to five users and 2GB of storage space. This is a good tool I can use as a beginner and grow to love at no cost.

Comments

  1. Thanks for the introduction to the Wrike tool. My initial review finds the tool to offer a number of features to promote integration and collaboration. The ability to view tasks at both micro and global perspectives in real time give PMs and team members greater opportunity to anticipate and mitigate challenges that might inhibit project advancement with what Wrike references as end-to-end visibility (Wrike, 2022). The software provides an effective method for communicating updates, which supports the PMs need to keep team members informed and current as an essential task for keeping the project on schedule and within budget (Walden University, LLC (Executive Director), n.d.).
